The in and outs of what to expect?

Session information about your PAWtraits experience:

We love our job and are honoured to be able to share
these beautiful moments with your family, yourself and your furry, feathered or scaly best friends.

Before your session:

You know your Pet/s better than anyone!

We want to know, what makes them unique?

During our consultation call we like to discuss your pet in detail.
Their breed, habits, interests, interactions, if they have a favourite toy or treat.
This discussion really gives us a grounding so that we can advise on the most suitable location for your pet’s session.
We have a both an indoor and outdoor (fully fenced) studio in Northcote.
We also have local parks that are great for photography sessions.
Of course if you have a particular location in mind for your PAWtrait session,
please tell us we love photographing at new locations.
Working with you to plan the session timing and location options is
so we can ensure you get the most out of your shoot.
Is there something specific you would like us to capture?
Anything in particular your pet is known for?
Are there any toys or noises that you know bring out their personalities?  Please mention it.
We want to make this shoot as fun and as memorable as possible
(yes there will be laughter and silliness, and lots of it!).
Wondering what to wear and what preparation may be required before the session, see our Q&A page.
When you call make sure you have your diary handy as this is when we choose the photo shoot time and process the session/participation booking fee for your photo shoot.

Call us on 9482 2006 to discuss having a PAWsome PAWtrait experience with your best friend/s!

This is where we all get to have some fun, we will create some amazing images that focus on the special relationship between you and your pet/s, and the individuality of each family member.

At your session:

We will take multiple images on the day, so that you will have a large and diverse range of images to choose from.
It varies according to how many pets and people are involved.

Usually between 45 mins – 1.5  hours.

We find for pets and younger children (under 6), short and sweet is best, ideally under 1 hour.
We make the session as much fun and as memorable as possible so there will be laughter and silliness!

Yes, it is a great idea to bring other family members,
you can capture that family update you have been meaning to do.
These can be done with and without your pets.
If more than your immediate family is coming to the shoot,
you will need to discuss this with us prior to booking.

Many of your animals will be photographed in an outdoor setting,

so we are always considering the weather and best lighting times.

Based in Melbourne (known for four season in one day),

we understand that changes in weather can mean a shoot needs to be rescheduled or relocated.

If the weather is forecast to be temperamental on the day of your shoot,

we will touch base with you, to discuss what you would prefer to do.

We always have our fingers and toes crossed that for the duration of the shoot

the rain will hold off, and so far this seems to have worked!

Of the 120 Pet PAWtrait Sessions we did in 2014

only 1 was rescheduled due to bad weather and a few rained just before

shooting commenced and straight after but never during.

Like the weather there are certain things that can not be controlled,

we understand this at PAWtraits and try to be as accommodating as possible.

We appreciate as much advance notice as is possible.

Multiple rescheduling may result in an additional session fee.

Wondering what else you may need to bring to your photo session?
Do you have any accessories you would like your pet/s photographed with?
Or is there a special toy that your pet/s loves to play with.  We do have a few squeaky toys on hand, but always welcome a different sound as will your pet/s.
If you have a question and we have yet to answer it, you may find the answer on our Q&A page and of course we are more than happy for you to call and we can answer any question you may have.
